At least 6 months will have to pass until the next generation consoles will be in stores, but who can get bored with all the belligerent statements coming from the these giants?
Immediately after the new equipments have been presented, both Sony and Microsoft started to comment on the other team's toy.
The first one was Sony which said through the voice of Kazuo Hirai that Xbox 360 is actually Xbox 1.5, an incomplete version far behind PlayStation 3's advanced technologies.
Microsoft didn't remain silent and outlined that besides being the first on the market, it will also benefits from the support of the game developers allegedly treated by Sony with arrogance. It seems that Microsoft has indeed promised game developers a bigger cut of the income resulted from the selling of games.
Microsoft also believes that PS 3 doesn't excel at online gaming, while Xbox Live is much more attractive for users and estimates that by July the service will have 2 million users.
This war of the statements has also a positive aspect, each company revealing important "secrets" about their products. For example, after Sony announced that the price for PlayStation 3 will be bigger than the one for PS 2, Microsoft said that the price for Xbox 360 could be bigger than what had been initially estimated, blaming for this increase the rising costs for hard-disks.
On the other hand, there are rumors that Xbox 360 might be compatible with iPod. Should these rumors come true, Microsoft would deliver a deadly blow to Sony.
And so, the war of the statements rages on.
