If you are a gamer interested in historical battles and close combat, then War of the Vikings will surely catch your eye.

The project developed by Fatshark moves the action in the Viking Age, enabling a new kind of game experience characterized by an increased intensity and improved accessibility. The game keeps the player in a constant alert due to its interesting combat experiences.

Three different editions are available: the Standard, the Blood Eagle and Valhalla Edition. The Standard edition gives you the chance to choose between playing the Vikings or the Saxons in order to take or defend Britannia.

The other two editions bring forth unique bonus items and include the Digital Artbook (concept art, level screen art and so forth) as well as a Deluxe Sountrack.

What makes it interesting is that it has been built on the same CQC Tech as War of the Roses, therefore making it quite a remarkable close quarter combat game.

It is recommended that you have a Windows 7 64 (Service Pack1), with a memory of 8 GB RAM but a Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) with 4 GB RAM will also do.

Softpedia will be releasing a preview of the game, so stay tuned.
