Developer Fatshark and publisher Paradox Interactive have announced that they will launch more content for their Medieval warfare title War of the Roses starting with November, initially focusing on new equipment and then evolving to more complex content.

For next month, War of the Roses will get:

- seven new weapons available for all players: the Gothic mace, the halberd, the poleaxe, the horn spanned crossbow, the rondel dagger, a new arming sword and an Italian side sword;

- a heavy armor modeled after that used by members of the Knights Hospitaller from Milano, with more than ten options when it comes to painting;

- a new helmet and four new visors that offer gamers both protection and variety.

During the coming winter season, the development team working on War of the Roses at Fatshark promises to also introduce two new game modes that will give gamers more variety.

Pitched Battle is the only one that has been named and will soon be introduced on beta servers.

The new mode is designed to include a lot of team work and force soldiers from both the York and the Lancaster factions to value their own lives, which might mean that there are no respawning options.

The team also plans to introduce two new maps, called Wakefield and Twoton, based around the battle that took place there in the real-world War of the Roses between December 1460 and March 1461, during a very cold winter.

The new equipment, the new mode and the maps are added to War of the Roses for free, but gamers have to play the game in order to unlock them.

Those who cannot put in the effort will be able to purchase them using real-world money.

War of the Roses was turned into a full-fledged franchise after the success of the initial release.
