Video game publisher Paradox Interactive and the University of York in the United Kingdom announced that War of the Roses, the Medieval combat game, is being added to the list of events that will be part of the Roses Tournament.

The competition pits the students from York and Lancaster and will take place today.

The War of the Roses battle between the two teams of 24 players will take place at 9 PM CET, which is 12 PM PDT, and will be streamed entirely on the official Twitch.tv channel of Paradox.

The battle will feature commentary from John Rickne, community producer at Paradox, and Matt Hoving, streaming producer at Paradox.

The Roses Tournament started in 1965 using only boats and at the moment also involves other sports, including tennis, sailing, cricket and more.

War of the Roses is developed by Fatshark and allows players to use armor and weapons from the period to take on other players on battlefield that are modeled on the historical battles.
