14 DAY TRIAL // The United States Patent and Trademark Office says that the already troubled War Z zombie-powered MMO from Hammerpoint Interactive will have to change its name because the current one is too similar to that of the upcoming World War Z movie.
The War Z was launched in late December on Steam and the various players who bought it had such a bad experience that their complaints forced the game makers to apologize and led to Valve taking the game out of the Steam digital distribution service.
Decisions from United States Patent and Trademark Office are technically mandatory, but the development team working on The War Z might try to fight it in court.
World War Z stars Brad Pitt, is based on an already famous novel and is currently set to launch during 2013.
