Gaijin Entertainment has announced that the second round of their closed beta for War Thunder's Ground Forces Expansion has just begun today.

War Thunder is a massively multiplayer online military game that delivers a simulation of World War II aerial warfare, and with its upcoming Ground Forces expansion aims to take the action to the ground.

During the month of November, players have been offered a number of in-game challenges that upon completion would award them with beta invites, and participating players will continue to receive invites to the closed beta during the second wave.

Users that desire exclusive content, which will become collector's items once the beta opens to the general public, have the option to purchase advanced packs on the game's official website. Upon purchase, these packs also grant instant access to the closed beta.

For people wanting to know more about the development process of Ground Forces, Gaijin Entertainment has published a number of closed beta diaries, available in their official news stream.

Additionally, the Winter Magic festivities will be held until January 12, and will offer players the chance to complete special tasks in order to get up to two unique premium aircraft, the heavy soviet bomber TB-3 and the Grumman XF5F.

Completing all tasks within the January 1 – January 10 interval will also grant one week of Premium account for free, as an extra bonus.

Furthermore, War Thunder users can vote for the discounts they want to show up the next day, on the official forums, and Gaijin Entertainment will also be giving away special daily gifts.

War Thunder is currently in its open beta test for both PC and PlayStation 4, and in development for Mac OS and Oculus Rift.

Players can join the more than 5 million existing players for free on the game's official webpage.
