Real WW II settings, juicy twists of fate, an underground anti-Nazis coalition, alliances that you couldn't even imagine before and a new face for the common enemy (well, at least for one side) - this is what War Front: Turning Point is tempting you with. If you ever wondered what other outcome the Second World War might have had, now is your chance to experiment with one idea. You'll enjoy the power of some of the best war machines from that time. The real interest, though, will be the specific units - top of the edge technology and a story that dazzles you. The Soviet Union seems to have developed a too powerful weapon and everybody is afraid of what might come out of it. A new never-thought-of-before alliance is formed: the US teams up with an anti-Nazis organization. One of the surprises that the game has in store for you is that you'll have to orchestrate Hitler's assassination. Aside from an exciting story and very pleasant visual aspect, the game also benefits from a traditional-style RTS gameplay as you got used to in games such as Warcraft or Command & Conquer.
It's always good to have an idea of what you can expect from a game. That's why we came up (thanks to the developers - Digital Reality) with this overview of the heroes and units you'll come across during the game.
GERMAN
Heroes
Oberstleutnant (Lt. Col.) Roland Hellmann He was probably the most controversial cadet at the Military Academy at his time, earning the best results in sports and achieving a flawless scholastic record. Having grown up in the German country, it is not very unusual that a handsome and athletic young man like Roland developed a liking for the weaker sex and beer, but he was still regarded as sort of a misfit and was looked down upon by the other cadets who had different backgrounds. Since he was neither from noble or wealthy descent or never joined the Hitlerjugend, they all thought of Hellmann as a low-born, and of lesser blood. Although, his athletic build, blonde hair and blue eyes portrayed the Nazi ideal.
Being positioned under General Hardt's battalion, he knew it was the right place. Hardt had a lot against the government but was clever enough to keep it to himself and a few selected fellow-officers only, who also preferred the pre-war Germany and its old ideals instead of the Nazi propaganda. Slowly they were forming a small resistance within the Wehrmacht, but it was Hellmann's appearance that gave Hardt the hope to make the first steps. Hardt found the new hero in him, the one the resistance and Germany needed.
Now it's up to Hardt to make his final move and start the rebellion against Nazism. Sooner or later Hellmann will have to choose sides between Germany and the Nazis.
Skills Demolition: Panzerfaust has greater chance to destroy target vehicle instantly, but it depends on the health of the targeted enemy unit. Bravery (Active skill): The Hero receives additional 30 armor points for 30 sec. Stamina (Passive skill): Increases hit points by 10% and with additional 10% / level. Rapid Fire (Radius): Increases fire range by 10% and with additional 10% / level.
Dietrich Preiss He grew up in the Eichwald Institut, an orphanage infamous for its strict educational methods, where he learned a great deal of rigid discipline and endurance. When he was released from the orphanage years later to make his own path he had trouble finding his place in the world. History made the choice for everyone in his generation, and stacked the youth of Europe into the trenches of the bloody battlefields that became also the final resting place for most, but not for Preiss.
The war ended for him when he lost an eye during a bloody bayonet charge. Following his own ideals and knowing the true greatness of the old Germany, shortly before the outbreak of the Second World War he realized that the Nazis were driving the nation into a new war. Therefore he openly opposed the government. Preiss obviously underestimated the Nazis as they reacted to his outspoken criticism with harsh prosecution. He had to run for his life and go undercover, spent month hiding from the Gestapo, fleeing from city to city. To give old Germany a chance, he founded the German Resistance to fight against the Nazi terror by any means possible. Dietrich Preiss is a veteran hero of the German resistance. He is the master of the sabotage, trickery and reconnaissance operations.
Skills Reduction: Decreases the radius firing range of nearby hostile units by 80%. Reinforcements (Active skill): The Hero can call in some reinforcements next to him. Marksmanship (Passive skill): Increases weapon damage by 2 and with additional 2 / level. Weak Point (Radius): Decreases hostile units' armor by 10 in the hero's Radius, and with additional 5 / level.
Elsa Adler Elsa grew up in an ordinary civilian family as the youngest, the fourth child, and the only girl after three boys. Her strict upbringing and the masculine environment didn't give much room for her to pursue any girly habits, so she grew up pretty much like her brothers to the great disappointment of her mother. When the war broke out, her brothers were drafted into the German Wehrmacht and she tried to help them anyway she could.
Her eyes were forced open by tragedies that changed her life forever. After just six months, all her brothers had been killed in action, on the front. She slowly realized what the Nazis were doing with her beloved country and to its people. Fueled by hate and anger as a lone freedom fighter, she started a lonely crusade against the Nazis.
When she eventually ran into a deadly trap set by the Gestapo, an unexpected rescuer, Dietrich Preiss, and his members of the newly forged German Resistance arrived and saved her from certain death. Realizing that all of them had a common goal, Elsa joined the Resistance and has served with them ever since. Elsa Adler is the heroine, a young, but talented spy of the German Resistance. She is quick, precise in operations, cautious and a real survivor.
Skills Regenerate: Regenerates nearby infantry units 200% faster, and nearby hero units 100% faster. Retreat (Active skill): Increases speed by 15 for 30 sec, and Elsa can't be killed until the skill is deactivated. Awareness (Passive skill): Increases vision range by 5 and with additional 5 / level. Quoad (Radius): Increases rate of fire by 20% and increases damage taken by the target by 10%. The rate of fire gets additional 10% / level.
Units
Engineer Truck - The Engineer Truck is the constructor vehicle of the German Forces, capable of constructing all types of German buildings as soon as they become available during the game.
Opel Blitz - The Opel Blitz is the standard German truck, which has great cargo capacity. It's used to carry resources from resource sites to the German Supply Depots.
Repair Truck - This Repair Truck unit is unarmed, lightly armored. It automatically repairs nearby damaged allied vehicles, or you can directly select any damaged unit to be repaired.
Bridging Tank - The Bruckenleger is the Bridging Tank of the German forces; it's able to construct pontoon bridges over water. It produces a one tank wide destroyable bridge that can be used by the army to cross any river.
Wehrmacht Infantry - Machine gun - Flares: 50% bonus to detect hidden Units - The Wehrmacht Infantry is the first line infantry of the German Army, equipped with an MP40 sub machine gun. The Wehrmacht Infantry units are cheap, but well trained. In great numbers very fast and effective.
Wehrmacht Panzerfaust - Panzerfaust/Panzerschreck - The Wehrmacht Panzerfaust is the primary Anti-Tank Infantry in the German Army, equipped with a Panzerfaust, capable of engaging light, and medium armored vehicles.
Jetpack Infantry - Flamethrower - Long Distance Jump - The Wehrmacht Jetpack Infantry is an advanced and experimental elite infantry squad equipped with a jetpack and a flamethrower. The Jetpack Infantry is able to jump long distances; enabling it to traverse otherwise impassable terrain, jump over objects, or large numbers of enemy units.
Exoskeleton - Heavy Machine Guns - Rockets - The German heavy trooper, also known as The Exoskeleton is an experimental weapon of the Wehrmacht, equipped with heavy armor, long range heavy machine guns and six medium range rockets. The Exoskeletons are very effective against almost all kinds of ground units, including light and medium tanks.
Flammwagen APC - Flamethrower - Can carry 12 infantrymen - The Flammwagen APC is a modified German armored personnel carrier armed with flamethrowers. It has a relatively short range of fire, but it is able to do great damage against infantry units, bunkers, lightly armored vehicles and buildings. The Flammwagen units are very dangerous in groups. It can also carry 12 infantrymen.
Wurfrahmen - Rocketlauncher - The Wurfrahmen, which literally means "Throwing Frame," was Germany's answer to the Russian Katyusha rocket launching vehicle. By attaching a specialized launch rack to a SdKfz 251 fighting vehicle, the Germans had quickly created a mobile rocket platform nicknamed "Stuka zu Fuss" ("Stuka by foot") for its ability to deal massive amounts of damage while maintaining a high level of mobility. The Wurfrahmen fires 280mm or 300mm explosive rockets, or 320mm incendiary rockets.
Panther - Medium Panzercannon - July 5, 1943 was the first time Russian forces would encounter the German Panther tank during operation "Citadel". Unfortunately for Germany, more than 80% of its Panther units failed due to mechanical issues. It didn't take long for Germany to come up with a better design for the Panther, which soon became the mainstay of German armored combat forces. In War Front: Turning Point, the Panther is a flexible unit, capable of performing multiple roles on the battlefield.
Tiger - Medium tank gun - The Tiger is a legendary combat vehicle. Built using a design that was far ahead of its time, the Tiger and its 88 mm main cannon were a force to be feared on the battlefield. In the hands of experienced commanders, the Tiger dominated in every battle. In War Front, the Tiger is considered a medium-heavy battle tank.
Elephant - Armorpiercing Heavy Weapon - The Elephant is the German heavy tank-hunter, which has heavy armor and an armor-piercing heavy weapon. The greatest disadvantage of the tank is the turret's stabilizer system. The Elephant needs to stop to open fire on any target.
Maus - Heavy Weaponry - The Maus is the German heavy tank of the Wehrmacht, which has very heavy armor and weaponry, but the lack of speed and maneuverability makes the Maus a formidable heavy tank.
Hummel - Howitzer Artillery - The Hummel is the German Howitzer artillery, which was built on to the older PZKW III chassis. It's able to provide mobile artillery support for friendly ground units from a great distance. The Hummel is very effective against base defenses and buildings.
Sonic Tank - Sonic Waves - The German Sonic Tank is an experimental, advanced high-end prototype technology, which is able to blast sonic waves, dealing great damage to ground forces, damaging everything in their path
Wirbelwind - Four AA guns - The Wirbelwind German armored anti-aircraft unit weighs 22 tons and represents an effective defense against
any hostile air units. Based on the Tank IV chassis, the Wirbelwind packs four 20 mm cannons, and can fire 600 rounds per minute.
Rheintochter - Ground To Air Guided Missile - The Rheintochter is a mobile Anti-Bomber weapon equipped with a ground-to-air guided missile. Its tracking system never misses its target, and the rocket instantly destroys any airplanes.
Messerschmitt (ME 262) - Machineguns - In 1938, the Messerschmitt Corporation was given the order to develop a jet-powered aircraft for the Luftwaffe. The 262 was the only jet-powered plane to become available during the war, and its incredible combat-readiness made it the pride of the German Air Force.
Stuka (JU 87) - Machineguns, Bombs - The Stuka dive bomber was one of the more recognized aircrafts of the war. Its unique ability to dive at a 70 degree angle made it almost impossible to be hit by anti-aircraft fire, however it was unable to defend itself in air-to-air combat.
Giantzeppelin - Large Air To Ground Artillery Cannons - The Giant Zeppelin is an experimental aircraft. With its aluminum structure, advanced engines, and large air-to-ground artillery cannons, the Giant Zeppelin is a great threat to every enemy ground unit. It's only vulnerable to Anti-Aircraft weaponry and enemy fighters. If a Giant Zeppelin is shot down, the explosion harms nearby units in a moderate radius.
Horten Bomber - Heavy High Explosive Bombs - The Horten is a jet-propelled long-range bomber equipped with heavy, high explosive bombs, capable of making devastating carpet-bombing runs against enemy ground units, base defenses and buildings. The Horten is fast and maneuverable; it is equipped with medium armor making it less vulnerable against AA guns and enemy fighters.
Junkers Bomber - Heavy Bombs - A heavy bomber able to erase base defenses, buildings and large concentrations of hostile ground forces and formations with one bombing run. The lack of speed and maneuverability makes the Junkers vulnerable to Anti-Aircraft weaponry and fighters.
Paratroops - Light MG - The regular Paratrooper is the light level air-to-ground support. A modified Junkers carries and drops regular infantry units to the selected target area.
Heavy Paratroops - Panzerfaust - The Heavy Paratrooper is the medium level air-to-ground support. A modified Junkers carries and drops Panzerfaust troopers to the selected target area.
Commando ParatroopsFlamethrower - Jetpack - The Commando Paratrooper is the high-level air-to-ground support. A modified Junkers carries and drops Jetpack units to the selected target area.
ALLIED
Heroes
Colonel John Lynch When the young John Lynch graduated as an engineer two years earlier than his schoolmates with a promising career ahead of him, few would have thought how adventurous and unconventional his life would become in just a few years. He had no trouble getting a job at one of the country's most important aircraft manufacturers as he was regarded the new hotshot in engineering circles. He soon topped every expectation with his unorthodox and groundbreaking design ideas, and oversaw the production of the craziest airplane prototypes of his time. When the Japanese Empire launched its war machine against the United States, he knew where his place was, and joined the army to, as a real patriot, serve his country. Since he wasn't much of a sailor or a marine, he ended up again in the hangars where he was working for the military as a test pilot.
The fall of Great Britain brought a new era in his military career. By winning on the western front, the Nazis could put more effort into their weapons program and carry out their research in Western Europe without any hindrance. A secret commando was formed, nicknamed the "Tech-Raiders", whose job was to infiltrate the continent, find secret Nazi research facilities and perform smaller raids on them to steal or sabotage enemy technology. Lynch joined this team as an engineering expert.
During the long assignments among the tech-raiders he gradually developed his fighting skills and after an unfortunate mission when the leader of the group died, he had to assume command. Eventually he ascended to the rank of a Colonel and became the top man in the technological war against the Third Reich. Colonel John Lynch is the main hero of the Allied Forces. His grenade launcher is very effective against infantry, light vehicles and buildings.
Skills Ignite: The mini grenade launcher will launch a flame grenade that covers the target area in flames. Quick Repair (Active skill): By activating this skill, Lynch will repair nearby vehicles for 15 seconds. High Explosive (Passive skill): Increases the damage of the grenade launcher by 5. Engineering (Radius): Increases the armor protection of any vehicle by 3 and its damage by 3.
Anna Herzog Born to a British mother working for the Ministry of Defense and an Austrian father who settled down in England between the two wars, she always had a more sophisticated view and a personal connection to the events on the continent that finally lead to the annexation of Austria and the start of a the Second World War.
Her mother who gave much emphasis to a classical education, she was both fluent in German and French. This made her a vital asset to the British Secret Service at the beginning of the war and she was soon enlisted as a spy to be deployed in Nazi occupied France. She was only 23 at the time but soon proved to be a great agent and served an amazing four years undercover in France and Austria. This is something no one else could pull off as the Gestapo started a bloody and brutal manhunt for Allied agents. During these years, she forged a valuable alliance with local Maquis Groups, especially with a daring freedom fighter, Vincent Sagnier.
She even earned certain esteem among them for fending off everyone's flirtation with a cold and devastating glance. Before she realized, she had become one of the most critical connections between the French resistance and the British Intelligence. Anna Herzog is a British undercover agent and the heroine of the Allied Forces. Her main weapons are charm and misdirection.
Skills Paralyze: Anna's shots have a chance to stop a target unit, and slow it down to 50% of its rate of fire. Charm (Active skill): No one can attack the heroine directly for 30 sec. Informer (Passive skill): Gives $100 per 10 sec, and additional $100/level Extended Vision (Radius): Increase friendly units' range of vision by 20% in the heroine's radius.
Vincent Sagnier As an adopted son of Charles Cassel, the chief editor of a renowned Parisian newspaper, he spent most of his childhood as a brash and tough newsboy, who was famous for beating up the other kids working for the competing newspapers. Although his stepfather rather enjoyed this devotion to his business, he knew where this bellicose nature was coming from and it always reminded him with a sad heart of Vincent's father, his best friend who lost his brave life in the First World War. Charles, always haunted by the death of his friend and the horrors of war, tried to bring up Vincent in a pacifist manner and did everything to hold him back from the military career the boy was dreaming of.
He employed him as a journalist when he became older, and when the war broke out, he pulled some strings and arranged for the young man to serve as a war correspondent instead of as an active combatant at the front. Vincent, who was eager to fight as his father did, was unable to go against the wishes of the man who loved him as a son, and accepted the job. When the Germans attacked Paris he had no thoughts of shooting pictures at all anymore, just shooting Nazis.
He finally stepped onto the path his father had treaded and became a fighter... something he felt he did too late, as the war was now lost for France. There was only one place where he could make up for his tardiness, the Maquis. He joined them and soon proved to be a versatile member of the group given his experience in working for the intelligence and talent for moving on the battlefront undetected he had acquired during his time as a war correspondent. Vincent Sagnier is the French hero on the Allied side. He is a demolition expert and also able to defend his allies against explosions.
Skills Piercing shot: Using armor piercing shells, the hero has a chance to cause lethal damage against the target. Bomb (Active skill): Blows up target buildings. Expertise (Passive skill): Decreases damage taken from explosions by 50%. Blast (Radius): Increases friendly explosion damage by 20%.
Units
Engineer Truck - The Engineer Truck is the Allied constructor vehicle, capable of constructing all types of Allied buildings within the range of the current Tech Level.
Studebaker - The Studebaker truck is the Resource Collector of the Allied Forces. It's very durable and has great capacity. It is used to carry resources to the Supply Cache from any resource sites on the map. It's very fast, and repairs itself much quicker then any other unit.
Bridging Tank - The Bailey Bridging Tank can construct bridge elements and can place them over the river. It can produce a one tank wide bridge that can be used for the army to cross over rivers.
Bedford Repair Truck - The Bedford is an unarmed, lightly armored Repair Truck of the Allied Army. It automatically repairs nearby damaged Allied vehicles, or you can directly select any damaged unit to be repaired.
MG Infantry - Machinegun, Grenades - The Allied Infantry is the first line infantry of the Allied Army, equipped with a Thompson machine gun. The Infantry units are cheap, relatively fast and effective in large squads. The Allied Infantry is also able to capture buildings, making them very dangerous and effective against enemy bases.
Infantry Bazooka Troopers - BAZOOKA - The Bazooka units are the Allied Army's first line anti-armor units, effective against both light and medium armored vehicles and buildings.
Ranger - Sniper Rifle - High Explosive Bombs - The Rangers are the elite infantry of the Allied Forces, equipped with M3 Springfield elite sniper rifles. They can shoot enemy units from a long range, and they are excellent scouts. With the high explosive bombs upgrade, they can easily destroy any building.
Matilde - Matilda / Machinegun, Light Tank Cannon - The Matilda is a legendary fighting vehicle, which proved to be a thorn in the German's side time and time again. The Matilda was able to withstand attacks from any German tank during its time of operation, only to be stopped with a perfectly aimed 88 mm shell. Originally built in England in 1940, the Matilda saw plenty of combat action, but was rendered obsolete by the end of the desert campaign. In War Front, the Matilda is considered a light tank.
Halftrack - Machine Gun - The Half-Track APC is a fast armored vehicle that can carry infantry with great speed; it's equipped with a machine gun to defend itself against infantry units.
Sherman - Medium Tank Cannon - The M4 Sherman is the most popular tank of the Allied Army. It's relatively fast, and it's equipped with medium armor and medium weaponry. The Sherman is effective against vehicles and lightly armored tanks.
Calliope Sherman - Rocket-launcher - The Calliope Sherman is an upgraded version of the standard Sherman tank, equipped with a multi-rocket launcher on its top. The rocket launcher has medium area damage in addition to the Sherman's tank canon damage, making the Calliope very effective against infantry and buildings too.
Pershing - Heavy Weaponry - The Pershing is the heavy tank of the Allied Army, which has heavy armor and weaponry. The Pershing has a greater firing range than most of the heavy tanks.
Priest - Light Long Ranged Weaponry - The M7 Priest is the light artillery of the Allied Army, equipped with light armor and long ranged weaponry, capable of delivering great devastation from a great distance. The Priest is very effective against infantry, buildings and base defenses.
M40 - Heavy Long Ranged Weaponry - The M40 is the heavy artillery of the Allied Army. It has medium armor and has a long-range cannon, which causes great damage in large area. Very effective against infantry and buildings too, and can harm light vehicles.
Force Shield Generator (O.R.B.) - Energy Shield - The Force Shield Generator (Omni-Repulsor-Barrier) is a mobile experimental unit of the Allied Forces, which is able to protect other Allied units around it with its energy shield. The shield has a relatively small radius and it's only able to absorb medium and lower caliber weapon hits effectively. The shield is capable of slowly regenerating itself.
Bofors - Anti-Aircraft Weapon - The Bofors is the first class mobile Anti-Aircraft weapon of the Allied Army. It is fast and maneuverable, but it is only lightly armored.
P51 Mustang - Machinegun - The P-51 "Mustang" saw use in WWII as a hunter, fighter-bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. This efficient plane is generally able to withstand most flying aggressors and also deal damage to most ground units with its machine guns.
P-38 Lightning - Machinegun, Air to Ground Rockets - The Lockheed P-38 Lightning is a twin-engine interceptor, which was deployed as an escort fighter and fighter-bomber. The "Lightning" is an effective combat aircraft against air and ground targets. Along with its standard machine guns, the P-38 was also equipped with unguided rockets.
Helicopter - 2 Gatling Guns - VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) - This Helicopter is a unique, VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) aerial armored personal carrier of the Allied Forces. It is armed with two Gatling guns for use against ground targets, but is very vulnerable against anti-aircraft weapons and fighters. It is able to carry large numbers of infantry over any kind of terrain with good speed.
Aphrodite - High-Explosives - The Aphrodite is a specifically modified, remote controlled B-17 aircraft filled with high-explosives, capable of making Kamikaze runs against enemy base defenses, buildings and large numbers of enemy ground forces.
B-17 Bomber - Bombs - The B-17 Flying Fortress is the flagship of the Allied heavy bomber fleet, equipped with large numbers of bombs and heavy armor. The B-17 is capable of making effective bombing runs against all kinds of units and buildings. The lack of speed and maneuverability makes the B-17 a very vulnerable aircraft against Anti-Aircraft weaponry and interceptor fighters.
Earthquake Bomb - Earthquake Bomb - The Halifax is a modified long-range bomber, carrying the experimental weapon of the Allied Forces, the Earthquake Bomb. This bomb can heavily damage any buildings on the surface including bunkers. The weapon itself damages everything on the ground inside a large radius, but it is less effective against infantry. The lack of speed and maneuverability makes the Halifax a very vulnerable aircraft against Anti-Aircraft weaponry and interceptor fighters.
Nuclear Strike - Nuclear Bomb - The XB-35 Northrop is an advanced, long-range heavy bomber, capable of carrying one Nuclear Bomb aboard. It is heavily armored and less vulnerable against AA guns and Interceptors than the other bombers. The Nuclear Bomb is very effective against all types of units, base defenses and buildings.
Paratroops - Machinegun, Grenades - The Regular Paratrooper is the light air-to-ground support of the Allied Forces. By calling in a modified B-17 to the battlefield, paratroopers (light infantry units) are dropped from the airplane to the selected target area.
Heavy Paratroops - Bazooka - The Heavy Paratrooper is the medium level air-to-ground support of the Allied Forces. By calling in a modified B-17 to the battlefield, bazooka paratroopers are dropped from the airplane to the selected target area.
Commando Paratroops - Sniper Rifle - High Explosive Bombs - The Commando Paratrooper is the heavy level air-to-ground support of the Allied Forces. By calling in a modified B-17 to the battlefield, Rangers are dropped from the airplane to the selected target area.
RUSSIAN
Heroes
Aleksei Mikhalkov Very little is known about the Soviet Lion, the Bloodhound of Stalin. His past is a mystery, even for the soldiers of the Soviet Red Army. There are many rumors about Comrade Aleksei Mikhalkov, and it is hard to tell, of course, which story is true and which not. It is certain Aleksei has spent several years with priests as a child, having no one else to care for him, and it is also widely known that he is an avid and fanatic bear hunter. His time with the priests was very short as they tried to tame the young but already powerful Aleksei, who had regular outbreaks of anger and aggression that he either couldn't or didn't want to control.
At one point he became so fed up with being preached at all the time that he attacked one of his caretakers and broke his spine with a single devastating blow. He had to flee and he had been hiding for years. However, when Stalin came to power and religion was persecuted, Aleksei's sin was no longer a crime.
He finally found his place in the Red Army where his aggression and bloodlust were rewarded and could be lived out entirely. The mysterious Aleksei Mikhalkov is one of the greatest heroes of the Soviet Red Army. He is quite effective and deadly against everyone and everything with his handy vehicle-class machine gun.
Skills Burst: Shoots multiple targets at once (in a cone in front of its machine gun) Berserk (Active skill): Aleksei receives 300% damage bonus, but damages the hero 5 points per sec. Resistance (Passive skill): Increases hit points by 10 % and decreases damage taken by 1. Each of the stats gain additional 10% to HP and -1 to taken damage/ Level. Nadia Amanova Nadia Amanova is second on the Soviet's cruelty list. She works in the ranks of the Red Army, where special tasks require a certain extent of anonymity. When Comrade Aleksei Mikhalkov's raw power is not enough for an assignment, Nadia's cruel intelligence will surely find a solution to accomplish it.
The few people who are aware of her real abilities and are still alive, remain silent rather than to risk her unwelcome visit in the night. Nadia is known by many names in the Red Army. Among those that stand out are the Black Widow or the Hellmaiden. Anyone who opposed her, or stood in the way of her career, regardless of that person's rank or background had either changed his opinion very quickly, or had no opinion about anything ever again.
This aggressive approach to careerism of course did not escape the attention of some members of the regime, who also gave voice to their fears about her. They shared the same fate as others in her way, which despite being a below the line way of operating even in the eyes of the political leaders, amused Stalin very much. Nadia Amanova is the first class special agent of the Soviet Red Army. She is quiet, lethal, effective and invisible.
Skills Stealth: She cannot be detected until she enters combat. The stealth drops automatically if any ground hostile units arrives within Nadia's 5 meter radius. Hijack (Active skill): Steals targeted hostile vehicle. Magnify (Passive skill): Increases visibility range by 5 and with additional 5 / level. Conceal (Radius): Affected units cannot be detected until they or the heroine enter combat. Drop it if ground hostile units enter her 20 meter radius. (Level 2 - 15 meters, Level 3 - 10 meters)
General Nazarov Andrei Nazarov is a man of challenges so they say and a born leader. One memorable event during his early years was when he coxed his fellow pupils in his boarding school to break into the local liquor warehouse together on an extremely harsh Russian winter evening. One of Andrei's biggest passions, his unbounded affection for genuine Russian vodka can be traced to this past event.
Although this raid might not be absolutely free of pretense, as some say for a while the other kids drank themselves into delirious joy, the young Andrei was perched on a rooftop with a silent smile on his face knowing that the chaos they had aroused made him the temporary master of the small town of Novoritjenko. The locals still tell stories about the drunken youngsters singing 'Polyushka, Polye' all through the chilly night.
His determination and sense of purpose also defined his future. Being completely beyond control, he found himself in one of the toughest military schools of the Soviet Union. There he finally seemed to settle down and became serious. His precision and self-control best showed itself at the firing range as there was no one else who could shoot more accurately than him, with or without the assistance of a "little" vodka. He not only won a number of bets with this skill but he also drew several followers to himself with it.
As he had been wearing a uniform literally since his childhood, he entered the war as the already renowned comrade-general Nazarov. His successful military career ran in parallel to his political advancement, both managed with the utmost care and guile, and so he soon rose to become Stalin's right hand. General Nazarov is a natural born leader of the Soviet Red Army. He is charismatic, a true mastermind and also known as an elite sniper.
Skills Promotion: 1% chances for every simple unit that gains experience in his Radius to gain a level instantly. Precision shot (Active skill): Shoots the driver from any vehicle making thereby neutralizing it. Presence (Passive skill): Increases command Radius range by 5 meters and with additional 5 meters / level. Leadership (Radius): Increases experience points gained by ground units in combat by 20% and by an additional 15% / level.
Units
Combat Engineer - The Combat Engineer is the main Russian constructor unit, he builds all buildings within the range of the available Tech Level. Armored Personal Carriers can carry the Combat Engineers.
ZIS-151 - The ZIS-151 truck is the Resource Collector of the Soviet Forces. It's very durable and has great cargo capacity. It can be used to carry resources to the Supply Center from any resource sites and is relatively fast.
Repair Tank - The unarmed T-34 Retriever is the Repair Tank of the Soviet forces, equipped with light armor. It automatically repairs nearby damaged allied vehicles, or you can directly select any damaged unit to be repaired.
Bridging Truck - The Bridging Truck is able to construct pontoon bridges over water. It can produce a one tank wide destroyable bridge that can be used by the army to cross any river.
Red Army Infantry - Machinegun - The infantry units of the Soviet Red Army are always in the first line. They're cheap, equipped with old machine guns and because of the lack of training they can only be used effectively in great numbers.
Red Army Medic - Can heal infantry units - This unarmed unit is well trained in giving aid, but quite inexperienced in combat. He's able to heal nearby injured infantry units inside a small radius, even in combat situations.
Kommissar - The Kommisars are cruel, but efficient officers and supervisors of the Soviet Red Army. Their job is to keep up the morale inside the Red Army by any means necessary.
Vodka Dealer - Distributes Vodka - The Vodka Dealer is a merchant, who works for the Soviet Red Army. He distributes vodka to infantry units, raising their morale and making them immortal while he's alive.
Molotov Infantry - Molotov - The Molotov Infantry is a regular foot soldier equipped with highly flammable Molotov cocktails. He's very effective against light, medium and heavily armored vehicles.
T-70 - Light Panzer Cannon - Small, fast and durable, the T-70 is a good clean-up vehicle. Its main weakness is its 45mm cannon, which is ineffective against heavily armored vehicles. Able to be produced quickly and in large numbers, the T-70 proves most effective in large groups.
ZIS-42 - Machine Gun - Can Carry Infantry Units - The ZIS-42 is a cheap Armored Personal Carrier, a fast armored vehicle that can carry infantry units with great speed, equipped with a machine gun to defend itself.
APC Mole - Can Carry Infantry Units Underground - This APC Mole is an underground Armored Personal Carrier, able to carry large numbers of troops underground anywhere on the battlefield. The APC Mole is unarmed, has medium armor and it's able to move on the surface as well.
T-34-85 - Medium Weaponry - The T-34-85 is the standard medium tank in the Soviet Red Army, has medium armor and weaponry. Like the Stalin, the T-34-85s were produced in great numbers, but the mass production caused a lack to the structural integrity, making the tank much more vulnerable than the other tanks.
IS-3 Stalin - 122mm Heavy Weapon - The IS-3 Stalin is the common heavy tank of the Soviet Red Army, equipped with heavy armor and weaponry. Developed from the generally successful IS-2 series, this vehicle combines an enormously powerful 122 mm gun with innovative armor design, including the angled glacis plate and flattened hemisphere turret.
Kharkov-Rampager - 5 Independent High Caliber Turrets - The Kharkov-Rampager is the dreadnought tank of the Soviet Red Army, equipped with ultra heavy armor and five independent high caliber turrets. While the Kharkov is more than a match for any Allied and German tank, the lack of Anti-Air weapons, speed and maneuverability make it vulnerable to any non-ground threat.
Katyusha - Rocketlauncher "Stalin's Organ" - The Katyusha is a multiple rocket-launcher vehicle nicknamed "Stalin's Organ" due to the alignment of the rocket rails and the near deafening noise of the launch of a rocket volley from it. The Katyusha's rockets are typically not as accurate as other long range ordinance, though their impact is devestating, especially when employed in large groups in attacks upon armor columns and infantry. The sound of a Katyusha volley being launched is a powerful psychological weapon, feared almost as much as the shriek of a German Stuka dive bomber approaching its target.
Moving Giant Turret - Self-Deployable Artillery - The Moving Giant Turret is self-deployable artillery, equipped with heavy armor, but with relatively weak engines. It has a large firing range, but due to the lack of the mobile stabilizer and turret servo systems, it can only fire in a deployed position and in a narrow arc.
Ice Spitter - Liquid Nitrogen Weapon - The Ice Spitter is one of the newest experimental weapons of the Soviet Red Army, developed simultaneously with the Winter's Breath. It carries a huge amount of liquid nitrogen. The Ice Spitter is able to freeze hostile units with its weapon for a long time.
ZUS-37 - Flakcannon - Fast and easy to produce, the ZSU-37 is the mainstay of Soviet anti-aircraft weapons, protecting Red Army units from bombers and fighters alike.
Jakovlev YAK-9 - Machinegun - The Yak-9 was a popular Soviet aircraft, designed with the intent to hunt down and destroy enemy bombers and soft ground targets.
Sturmovik IL-2 - Machinegun, bombs - The Il-2 is a two-seat combat aircraft. The IL-2's armor covers the entire fuselage front section and engine. Often called the "concrete airplane," the IL-2 required concentrated enemy fire to take it down.
Artillery Strike - Artillery - A requested heavy artillery barrage to a selected target area, it's able to inflict moderate damage to large groups of soldiers, vehicles, base defenses and buildings.
Tupolev Bomber - Bombs - The Tupolev TB-3 is heavy bomber, equipped with loads of bombs and heavy armor. The TB-3 is capable of making effective bombing runs against all kinds of units and buildings. The lack of speed and maneuverability makes the TB-3 a very vulnerable aircraft against Anti-Aircraft weaponry and interceptor fighters.
Winter's Breath - Ice Bomb - The Ice Bomber, codenamed the "Winter Breath" is a modified Tupolev TB-3, carrying an experimental weapon, the Ice Bomb to the target area. After the explosion the liquid nitrogen freezes all units and buildings inside a large radius. Like the standard TB-3, the lack of speed and maneuverability makes the TB-3IB a very vulnerable aircraft against Anti-Aircraft weapons and interceptor fighters.
Paratroops - Machinegun - The Paratrooper is the only air-to-ground support of the Soviet Forces. By calling in a modified Tupolev to the battlefield, which drop infantry to the selected target area.
Partisans - Machinegun - Infiltration - The Partisans are a well-organized group of trained freedom fighters, which coordinate their devastating actions with the operations of the Soviet Red Army. They can infiltrate any base, entering undetected and leaving the base's defenses intact. They increase in number whenever they engage in a fight.
