Every family has its black sheep but with the Baldwins, things tend to stand a bit differently, since each of the four brothers is used to getting a fair amount of media attention for activities non-related to their acting careers. Out of all, Daniel is probably the best example in this sense. After being arrested in November 2006 on the count of grand theft auto and receiving stolen property, charged and then released on a $20,000 bail and his own recognizance, Daniel was ordered back in court yesterday morning. Although he claimed he would not miss one single court hearing when he was arrested, Daniel failed to show up in court. As is customary in such cases, an Orange County judge ordered a bench warrant to be issued on his name. 'He had an arraignment scheduled and he did not appear so a bench warrant has been issued. I was sitting in court. He most definitely did not show up.', a spokesperson for the district attorney's office said after the court hearing had ended. With that, Daniel officially became a wanted man and the media had already began to speculate that he might try to pull off one of Wesley Snipes' more recent moves: fleeing the country. The Associated Press finally tracked down the disgraced actor and the good news is that he hasn't fled the country yet. Daniel Baldwin was spotted in the metro area of Detroit, where he is working on a new movie called 'Little Red Devil' (with him playing the devil, of course). The moment the word on Daniel's premises got out, the AP contacted his publicist for more information. Instead of that, all they got from the publicist was 'You guys need to get your facts straight and call us back', without even a single word on which are the facts that need straightening. A couple of hours later, Baldwin himself called the AP to give his own version of the story. According to him, there is nothing wrong in missing one court hearing because he is at work, which can only mean that he is mending his ways. '[The warrant] is erroneous and a mistake... it isn't true... I'm sober today and I'm working real hard on my career and becoming a productive member of society', Daniel said over the phone. The police and the judge appointed on the case have now to decide whether to take the actor in custody or not. Until now, there are no hints as to what their next move will be but, meanwhile, Daniel Baldwin stays in Detroit. If, at the end of the trial, he is found guilty of the two charges, he will spend the next four years behind bars.
