Hope you didn't forward those emails to other people, too...

Guitar Hero III's issue is already popular by now, as it's troubled quite a lot of gamers. As we informed you a couple of weeks ago, the Wii version of the acclaimed music game only manages to output mono sound, unlike the Dolby Pro Logic II compatibility promised by Activision. Of course, customers were angry about this and some demanded refunds or fixed versions of the game.

Activision seems to be handling the issue, promising to deliver brand new game disks, without the above-mentioned sound glitch. In order to do that, the famous publisher uses a mailing list that includes the people who want to receive replacement copies for their "sound-broken" ones. Things seem fine for now, except for the fact that everyone on the mailing list has recently received emails reporting the status of their replacement... plus tons of other addresses. Basically, every gamer complaining about this issue got a mail, that includes every other discontent GH III fan's email address.

Of course, this is what they call "disclosure of personal information", that surely exposes people to spammers and God knows what other bad initiatives. The email containing all these addresses was sent to approximately 860 recipients and we're bound to at least see one of them checking out an email address that seems to pertain to a "chick". After all, Guitar Hero III fans are rockers and rockers sure are pranksters, right folks?

Here's one prank that Activision won't dig: the lawsuits they'll probably have to deal with! The publisher might be facing legal actions, after revealing the customers' addresses to...the world and exposing them to spam messages. Did you receive one of these emails? When are you going to get a replacement copy for your "sound-broken" GH III copy? Be part of this burning issue by commenting below.
