This is the solution for men

Spending too much time with your buddies in the pub or with a beer in front of the TV? This is bad news for your sex life.

Fortunately, the American men have doubled the amount of housework they do and spend three times more time with their kids, as compared to the situation 50 years ago. The result: happier American wives and solider American couples.

A new report published on the website of the Council of Contemporary Families (CCF) and scheduled for being presented at the CCF's annual conference in Chicago, April 2008, shows that, by involving themselves more in the household chores, husbands increase their sex life.

"By and large, the more men do around the house, the happier women are," said co-author Scott Coltrane, sociologist of the University of California, Riverside.

"When men do more of the housework, women's perceptions of fairness and marital satisfaction rise and the couple experience less marital conflict," states the report.

What's next? Women exonerated of many domestic tasks will turn into sexual tigresses?

"We sociologists generally don't go there, but therapists say there's a direct correlation between men doing more in the home and the frequency of sex," said Coltrane.

"Sharing the household chores is associated with higher levels of marital satisfaction - and sometimes more sex, too! Wives report greater feelings of sexual interest and affection for husbands who participate in housework. Then again, spending more time with the kids might not have the desired impact on a couple's intimate relationship," said psychologist Joshua Coleman, a senior fellow at the CCF.

"The increase in parenting hours on the part of both husbands and wives may pose some threats to the couple relationship since many couples have increased their time with their children by eliminating or greatly reducing time for romance," added Coleman.
