However, Walmart announced putting the popular treats back on its shelves nationwide on Friday.
They have set the date for the pre-release for July 12, a full three days before they are available anywhere else.
According to NBC News, in order to reintroduce the Hostess snacks, the buyer of the company had to reopen bakeries in Columbus, Georgia, in Emporia, Kansas and last but not least in Indianapolis and Schiller Park in Illinois.
“With demand running several times ahead of prior year’s levels, Hostess has shipped product to warehouses of every major retail customer across the country,” Hannah Arnold, a spokeswoman for Hostess Brands describes.
