Security and performance improvements certain to occur

The stable version for Thunderbird 8 has not yet been pushed to the users officially, but the installer is available on Mozilla’s FTP and can be downloaded and installed.

There is no hope at this point, but many users still wonder why Mozilla’s email app is delivered with that ugly interface by default on Windows. They’ve been voicing this since the release of version 5, which sported this layout. Hope arises with version 9 of the client, though, which lets you hide the menu and mail bars.

As for the changes in this soon-to-be-official release, there should not be any amazing features since everything has been settled in the beta stage. Users will definitely notice the absence of Smart Folders (reactivate it using this code) and a change in shortcuts (Ctrl+F in particular). Also certain is the fact that there will be security fixes and performance improvements.
