“We’re just calling to let you know that we actually do have a ticket … for you”

Apple is contacting developers who managed to begin placing an order for a WWDC ticket but couldn’t finalize it in time telling them, “… we actually do have a ticket available for you for this year’s WWDC.”

A number of developers are reporting that Apple has contacted them to inform that there still are some tickets available to the much coveted WWDC, after a record-breaking two-minute sellout.

Jordan Kay is one of those developers who took to Twitter yesterday to inform his followers that he has received a voicemail from Apple.

The Cupertino giant reportedly told the man, “We’re just calling to let you know that we actually do have a ticket available for you for this year’s WWDC.”

Apple also notified the developer that his order had not been completed, but that he was still eligible to buy the ticket.

“Thank you for your interest in WWDC 2013. We saw that you tried purchasing a ticket and were unable to complete your purchase,” the company said.

Apple then told Kay to sit tight and wait for “instructions on how to complete your ticket purchase within the next 12 hours.”

It is unclear how many developers have received Apple’s call, but it would be advisable for those who are in the same basket with Kay to keep their phone at hand.

Apple this year took all the necessary precautions to avoid getting bashed by the media for not offering everyone a chance to buy a ticket to WWDC 2013, the company’s annual developer conference.

Last year, tickets sold in under two hours. This year, all the tickets were gone in less than two minutes.

Needless to point out, Apple’s WWDC event is quite the place to be for up-and-coming developers (and startups) trying to make a name for themselves in the industry.
