We all remember Looney Tunes from the early days of our childhood. The animated characters that got shot, bombed and run over but always managed to get back up and be ready for the next humorous adventure. New generations may grow up watching Happy Tree Friends and being accustomed to random and explicit violence, but we grew up watching Looney Tunes and we observed countless moments of less explicit yet extremely funny violence.

Now, you can relive the adventures of the cast of the Looney Tunes in videogame form. Eidos has just announced that it will publish Looney Tunes: Cartoon Concerto for the Nintendo DS, a rhythm action title which is to be released in June 2008. The gameplay will be similar to that of Elite Beat Agents, with players trying to recreate music from the cartoon series with the DS stylus while various scenes involving Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Sylvester the Cat or Tweety will play on the top screen. When players succeed, they will be rewarded with short clips from the animated series.

Cartoons are the main inspiration for another DS title that Eidos aims to release in June, called Wacky Racers. It's based on the television cartoon series that featured pretty crazy car designs with surely insane drivers racing across barren landscapes. Players will attempt to become the Wackiest Racer in the World by beating their opponents on more than 10 racetracks inspired by the TV series, while collecting various items they can then use against their opponents. Popular characters, like Dick Dastardly and his sidekick, Muttley, with his annoying chuckle, will be making appearances.

Last fall, Sci, which is the parent company of Eidos and media giant Warner Bros., reached an agreement regarding future joint developments concerning intellectual property like Batman, Looney Tunes, Hanna-Barbera titles and others, so in the future we might be seeing more casual titles such as these aimed at the DS and Wii and produced by Eidos.
