Wacky Cruise Apologizes to Brooke Shields

The Cruise-Shields feud has just come to a happy ending, as the Scientologist visited Shields at her own house and made an apology for blasting her use of drugs as treatment for post-partum depression, live on TV.

It all started last year, when Tom came as guest on the 'Today Show' and said that Scientology is against medication as a means to help a woman get over post-partum depression. He then said, pointing his finger at Brooke Shields, that vitamins and a lot of exercise are the perfect solution of coping with a natural fact of life, as that of a woman feeling down after giving birth.

The conflict escalated when Brooke Shields answered back, with such comments printed in the press, as planning to give Tom a straightjacket for a present or as saying that she feels sorry for his lover, Katie. At the time, the star defended her position, by claiming (with good reason) that Cruise has never had the experience that she went through, so he is in no position to give her advice on a matter to which he is a complete stranger.

During a recent interview on the same show from which the entire scandal started, 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno', Brooke Shields said that Cruise finally made her an apology for his harsh words. 'He came over to my house and he gave me a heartfelt apology. He apologized for bringing me into the whole thing and for everything that happened', the actress stated.

While the two actors kissed and made up, many are those who wonder: coming from Cruise, is this only a move to win over the public opinion and the media, considering that he was fired from Paramount exactly for this reason?
