A collector is selling a 1944 Taylor Craft Auster used in World War II to battle Hitler's troops. The plane, marked TJ398 is missing an engine, but apart from that it's in pretty good shape.

According to the Daily Mail, 52-year-old Karl Edmondson is selling the 70-year-old aircraft for £4,000 (€4,700 / $6,100). It was part of British and Allied forces post-D-Day war efforts.

It was used by the 665 Squadron and it was mostly manned by the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Royal Canadian Artillery. It could reach a maximum speed of 120 mph (193 kph).

“It was used to fly just above the tree line and spot enemy troops before the pilots would radio allied troops in charge of artillery,” Edmondson, of South Shields describes.
