D-Generated duo to be brought to our homes

One of the reasons we truly love sports games is the fact that, once the title is released, we get the chance to bring at least one real life superstar to our homes - something that would be pretty hard to achieve otherwise. The same thing happens with the upcoming WWE Smackdown VS. Raw 2009: THQ has announced the names of the cover athletes and, boy, we are happy! All the versions of the game will see fan favorite Triple H (for the fifth time on a cover) joined by cover rookie (but wrestling veteran) Shawn Michaels to bring us a unique visual experience.

Cory Ledesma, senior creative manager, THQ, said, "We selected them for the cover as a means to celebrate the unprecedented level of tag team functionality we will deliver in WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009. Our tag team matches will allow players to experience the true task of working together, and our new Road to WrestleMania Mode will feature the franchise's first co-op tag team storyline".

So, great news comes together with... great news! Not only will we enjoy the beloved team D-Generation X on the cover, but we'll also have tag team matches - something the developers haven't told us until now. So, what does this mean? Double the fun, of course!

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 promises to deliver the best wrestling experience ever on all consoles available at the moment on the market - Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS2, PSP systems, Nintendo DS and Wii. Together with this recently announced tag team mode, the game will offer a brand new Create-A-Finisher option which adds to the customization of the title, and a new Road to WrestleMania Mode which brings, for the first time, co-op storylines to the game! All these will be available when it gets released, most probably by the end of the year.
