World Wrestling Entertainment has announced the addition of its WWE Network channel to iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. The channel requires a $9.99 (€7.27) monthly subscription, and interested parties can demo it for one week, free of charge.

The World Wrestling Entertainment channel is now live on the Apple TV and via its updated WWE app for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

Vince McMahon, WWE chairman & chief executive officer, said, “Today is a historic day for WWE as we transform and reimagine how we deliver our premium live content and 24/7 programming directly to our fans around the world.”

“WWE Network will provide transformative growth for our company and unprecedented value for our fans,” added McMahon.

As noted above, World Wrestling Entertainment also updated its free WWE app to version 3.0.0, offering access to the newly launched WWE Network, “where you can watch every live monthly pay-per-view, groundbreaking series, the complete WWE, WCW, and ECW pay-per-view archive, as well as other new shows,” according to the description.

“Now, in addition to the latest WWE videos, news and thousands of photos, you can use the WWE App as your exclusive portal to WWE Network – a 24/7 streaming service with both scheduled programming and a massive, on-demand library,” says World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.

Other new features include a second-screen experience for WWE Network shows, new home screens with more news content, and an easier way to get to your favorite videos and second screens, refreshed Raw and SmackDown pages, and bug fixes.

“Only on WWE Network, you’ll see all 12 WWE live pay-per-view events, including WrestleMania, groundbreaking original series, reality shows and documentaries,” adds the network.

“You’ll also be able to explore sports-entertainment’s most comprehensive video-on-demand library, featuring every WWE, WCW and ECW pay-per-view ever – uncut and uncensored – plus, classic matches and replays of Raw and SmackDown episodes from 2012 and 2013.”

The WWE app also offers instant access to favorite WWE Superstars, Divas and Legends, complete with profiles that include career milestones, biographies, video highlights, and even Twitter feeds.

For now, WWE Network programming is available only to customers in the United States, but the network promises to expand its offerings to countries like the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Europe's Nordic countries “before early 2015,” according to MacRumors.

Those interested in demoing the channel free of charge can download the free WWE app or access the WWE Network channel on their Apple TV and test it out for a full week.
