While the 2010 WWDC took about a week to sell out, the tickets to this year’s conference were gone in roughly two hours since Apple’s announcement confirming the June 11-15 schedule.

Accessing the “tickets” tab on Apple’s WWDC site yields the following message: “Sorry, tickets are sold out. We'll be posting videos of all our sessions shortly after the conference, so everyone can take advantage of great WWDC content for free.”

Each WWDC ticket costs $1,599 and some early buyers have already taken to eBay to sell theirs at an inflated price. The practice is illegal, and eBay should know better.

Ticket purchases were limited to one per person and five per organization. Apple specifically notes that “WWDC tickets are non-transferable and may not be sold, resold, or auctioned in any way.”
