Developer Dark Energy Digital has announced that its upcoming video game World Snooker Championship Real 11, the official simulation of the noble game of snooker, is set to be featuring support for the PlayStation Move motion-tracking system when it is launched late in the week, on April 15.

WSC Real 11 can also be played on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, but it seems that no support will be included at launch for the Kinect add-on and it’s not clear whether or not the developer plans to introduce it later via a patch.

The PlayStation Move support allows gamers to use the Real Cue Action feature, specifically designed to allow gamers to have a shot experience that is as close as possible to that of real world snooker players.

WSC Real 11 promises to be the most realistic snooker and pool game on the market, with one of the most interesting new features being the 100 percent pixel perfect ball physics, which allows the player to see exactly how his shot reshapes the situation on the table.

The new game is also more forgiving on the players, with a new Rewind feature that is similar to that used in racing games, allowing anyone to roll the game back and try again, with no penalty, some of the trickier shots.

Pete Jones, who is the creative director of Dark Energy Digital, has stated, “We’re immensely proud of the technical and feature innovations that we’ve introduced with this latest iteration in our acclaimed snooker series. The inclusion of support for PlayStation Move motion control further enhances WSC Real 11, making this the definitive snooker experience.”

The addition of the PlayStation Move is important for the launch of WSC Real 2011 but also to Sony as the hardware developer and publisher has struggled to get third-party developers to use its motion-tracking system.
