Soon, new mobile devices running under Microsoft's Windows Phone Mango operating system are expected to arrive on the market, and it seems that Omnia W from Samsung might be one of them. The mobile phone was already rumored before, and some more info on it reportedly emerged today.

Previous rumors suggested that Samsung was working on the release of a new Windows Phone device that would be included in the first wave of Mango phones, but the company has not offered any confirmation on this until now.

Supposedly called Samsung i8350 Omnia W, the new mobile phone should arrive on the market in the near future with Microsoft's new Windows Phone Mango platform flavor on board, and with a 1.4Ghz application processor inside.

The handset was spotted on a recently leaked Samsung roadmap, and some other details on it emerged as well.

Today, the guys over at SamFirmware tweeted the specs of “Samsung's new Windows Phone,” claiming that it would indeed pack the said 1.4GHz application processor, along with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display.

Both pieces of information seem legit, though we were expecting for Samsung to pack its new Windows Phone devices with higher hardware capabilities, that's for sure.

Previously leaked info on the mobile phone suggested that it could include 512MB of RAM, along with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, a recent article on WMPoweruser notes.

Overall, the new mobile phone should arrive on shelves as an affordable device, at least when compared to a wide range of more powerful Android-based smartphones available for purchase today.

Provided that the Samsung Omnia W is indeed real, it should attract a lot of users to Microsoft's mobile operating system, especially if it is priced according to its hardware specs.

For the time being, nothing is official on the new mobile device, but there are great chances that more on it might become available soon, perhaps during the IFA 2011 conference in Berlin, where Samsung is expected to bring Android and bada smartphones as well.
