Canadian carrier WIND Mobile is one of the few that has yet to launch a Windows Phone 8 device. However, this is about to change as the operator recently confirmed it would launch a WP8-based smartphone very soon.

Although there are no details on the exact release date, the carrier teased the upcoming launch of a Windows Phone 8 device on its Twitter account.

It will be interesting to see what device WIND Mobile will choose to offer. The carrier can choose to launch the HTC 8X, HTX 8S, Samsung Ativ S or Nokia Lumia 920.

However, if “soon” means early January, it is possible that WIND will go for Huawei’s W1 or W2 smartphones which are set to be unveiled at CES 2013.

Given the long partnership between Huawei and WIND Mobile, it won’t come as a surprise if the latter is one of the first carriers to introduce the W1 or W2. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
