The Bold 9790 is one of the latest BlackBerry 7 smartphones launched by Research In Motion (RIM), but is not among the most powerful devices released by the Canadian handset maker.

However, BlackBerry Bold 9790 is an important step forward for RIM, especially in comparison with other BlackBerry smartphones launched in 2010.

Although the phone hit shelves last month, it appears that Canadian carrier WIND Mobile plans to launch the Bold 9790 on February 3.

According to the folks over at MobileSyrup, BlackBerry Bold 9790 will be available via WIND Mobile for no less than $399 (300 EUR) off-contract. Customers can also purchase the smartphone for only $49 (37 EUR) on WINDtab+.

BlackBerry Bold 9790 is already available in Canada through numerous carriers, including TELUS, Bell, Virgin Mobile and SaskTel.
