Today, Western Digital has unveiled a new firmware package developed for its My Cloud personal storage, namely version 3.04.01, which includes a large number of fixes that should improve the device’s overall performance and stability.

Specifically speaking, this fresh update resolves the remote connection bug regarding the Java 7 Update 51, fixes the NTP issue where it would still run even though it has been disabled, and adds a new 3-sec white/blinking LED in order to indicate a system restore upon power up.

In addition to that, version 3.04.01 fixes the dashboard’s web page links language problem and its inconsistent number display of media files bug, the firmware update duration time that occasionally took too long to finish, and the user names issue where they would be shown only in lowercase.

Moreover, WD’s My Cloud is now able to create a scheduled safepoint, to mount a USB drive that is named “backup,” to display a proper media scanning progress in the dashboard, and to stop sending notification emails when the option is disabled.

Last but not least, this release adds a blinking LED in order to indicate the initiation of the hardware reset process and includes a Product Improvement Program option through which WD will try to improve by gathering information (such as the serial number) while upgrading the firmware.

That being said, download WD My Cloud Personal Cloud Storage Firmware 03.04.01-219, apply it, and enjoy your newly improved cloud, as well as its added features.
