W43H II, now offered by KDDI, was manufactured by Hitachi, and is meant to be an upgraded version of the first W43H, released not so long ago. While the 2 megapixel camera with anti-blur function and autofocus the phone includes won't necessarily leave you breathless, the key feature of this mobile phone is
the 1Seg digital TV tuner that allows the viewing of digital TV from anywhere and at any time. Japan's digital satellite broadcasting service for mobile phones is increasingly popular, and more mobile phone manufacturers are offering TV-enabled devices.
Apart from watching TV on this mobile phone, users will also be able to record their favorite programs. In order to do so, there is of course need for more storage space that the phone's 50 MB of internal memory. That extra space is provided with the help of the included MicroSD memory card slot that supports up to 2GB memory cards.
Apparently, you will be able to store approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes on a 512MB memory card. The W43H II also features headphones with DBEX technology for high quality sound, a 2.6 inch color screen with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels and the EZ Channel Plus and EZ news flash services. The clamshell comes with a shiny mirror-like exterior finish and is available both in black and pink.
The mobile phone was already released in Japan and offers 4 hours and 15 minutes worth of continuous digital TV watching. It is now available on
KDDI, although there is no information regarding the price so far.
