Vydeo has just announced a new dual-port eSATA ExpressCard/34 for the MacBook Pro. The dual port ExpressCard has the 34mm form factor, and supports connection of SATA external and internal storage devices in a laptop's PCI slot.

Vydeo has support for both Mac OS X and Windows based laptops, and provides drivers for both. The module provides a 2.5Gbps ExpressCard/34 interface on the host side and dual, fully compliant SATA II 3Gbps ports on the device side.

This thing is perfect for video editing applications that work with massive HD files which require high speed SATA external storage. According to Vydeo, the eSATA 34 will be available and shipping in volume some time in the April-May 2006 period.
