VueScan 9.3.08, an easy-to-use replacement for the software that usually comes with scanners and that supports most flatbed scanners, printer/scanners, and film scanners, is now available for download.

The VueScan developers are on a roll and they're releasing one version after another. This latest one brings just a few fixes, but users should upgrade nonetheless.

According to the changelog, the “Preview” button is now enabled when the left panel is not displayed; the “Output | File type” button has been added in order to make it simpler to select files; a few problems that occurred when the file name overwrites an existing file have been corrected; and a number of smaller GUI fixes have been added.

VueScan provides support for over 1,000 scanners on the Linux system. Not all of them work with all SCSI/USB/Firewire interfaces, but most combinations are known to work.

A complete backlog of modifications, implemented in all the past versions, can be found in the official announcement. Download VueScan 9.3.08 right now from Softpedia.
