VueScan 8.5 Packs 600+ Improvements in 2 Years Worth of Updates

Hamrick Software has announced that, since the release of VueScan 8.4 two years ago, the powerful scanning application for Mac OS X has added over 600 changes. Currently at version 8.5, VueScan also includes support for multiple wireless HP scanners on Mac OS X, as well as Ricoh SCSI IS-series scanners on Windows, to name a few enhancements.

VueScan works with most high-quality flatbed and film scanners, aiding Mac users in producing scans of excellent color pop and balance. The app does batch scanning, while producing color-balanced and cropped images at the same time, all thanks to the advanced hardware capabilities of today's scanners.

VueScan sports advanced features for restoring faded colors, batch scanning, and other tools used by professional photographers, supporting more than 400 scanners and 157 digital camera raw files.

With the latest version up for grabs, Hamrick Software has confirmed that VueScan 8.5 is a “free upgrade for anyone who previously purchased VueScan,” packing “more than 600 improvements in 2 years since VueScan 8.4,” the changelog says. Changes since VueScan 8.4.97 include:

· Fixed problem with Nikon slide feeder;
· Fixed problem with some HP scanners on Windows;
· Added support for multiple wireless HP scanners on Mac OS X;
· Added support for Ricoh SCSI IS-series scanners on Windows;
· Faster skew correction;
· Improved Chinese (simplified) language support.

VueScan comes in two editions, Standard and Professional. The first time you download the software it operates as a free trial. The Standard Edition or Professional Edition features are enabled only when you purchase and enter a serial number from Hamrick Software. The dollar-sign watermark is also disabled.

To update to the latest version for free just download VueScan from the link provided below, and the software will automatically recognize if you've already purchased it. Just install it over your old version of VueScan. Until VueScan 8.5, upgrades were free only in the first year after the user purchased the Standard Edition.
