VueScan 8.5.31 Adds New Epson Scanners

As Apple has updated drivers for HP scanners under Snow Leopard, a new version of the scanning application for Mac OS X from Hamrick Software also became available – VueScan 8.5.31. A free download for existing users and recommended for those running the software under OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), VueScan 8.5.3 is the result of several updates issued in under a week adding a lengthy list of improvements.

With the release of version 8.5.30 last week, Hamrick Software has fixed a problem with feeders on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), as well as added support for additional Epson scanners. Those include: Artisan 710 / PX710; Artisan 810 / PX810; Stylus NX110 / SX110 / TX110; Stylus NX210 / SX210 / TX210; Stylus NX410 / SX410 / TX410; Stylus NX510 / SX510 / TX510; Stylus PX650; WorkForce 310; WorkForce 610.

New in version 8.5.31, released this week, is the added support for the 'Input | Auto skew' option and the compatibility with most printed pages that are skewed. The new VueScan also works with slides, negatives and photos and displays fewer annoying warning messages in the console log.

All you need to do is install it over the old version of VueScan. Upgrades are free in the first year after you purchase the Standard Edition. Upgrades are always free if you purchase the Professional Edition. VueScan requirements call for Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) or later, and a supported scanner.
