While we usually associate GPS navigators with the image of those sleek, black, slim and elegant-looking solutions installed within our vehicles, the truth of the matter is that they wouldn't stand a chance in an off-road environment, where devices such as the recently-introduced Voyager from Trail Tech reign supreme. According to the manufacturer, this solution has been designed specifically for motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles or 4 wheel drives and combines physical sensors and GPS navigation in a single unit, practically granting users fast and easy access to a multitude of functions, depending on the set of accessories and the vehicle of choice. In fact, the navigator is bolted at or below the handle bars, an unique mounting solution that allows Voyager to become an integral part of one vehicle, making it is the first GPS product that has a dedicated peace-of-mind mounting system for an off-road motorcycle (at least according to what the company has to say on the matter). The Voyager also comes equipped with a 400x240 WQVGA LCD display, featuring a very good resolution and contrast. In fact, in intense sunlight, the transflective properties go to work creating a bright, vivid display, while an LED backlight lights the display after the sun goes down. The device allows users to easily upload routes from any GPS or PC, the device being controlled via the customizable user screens. What's also interesting to mention is the fact that these things come in model-specific integrated kits, fitting various types of vehicle, while in the same time accepting AC or DC power from virtually any vehicle. Pricing for the Voyager from Trail Tech is exactly the same, regardless of the kit of choice (namely, the type of vehicle you'll be able to mount it onto), users having to cough up around 280 US dollars in order to get their hands on one of these things.
