Russian manufacturer Voxtel has announced the availability of its new communications device, the Voxtel W520. While most people would expect all manufacturers to release only devices powered by Windows Mobile 6 now that the OS is available, the handheld runs Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Edition with an update package AKU 3 and comes equipped with a 2.4 inch 65k color screen with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution.

Its lack of EDGE as well as other features that would generally be considered a must have in the case of such a device point to the fact that it was actually meant to be more of a low-end model. Other features include a TI OMAP 730 processor running at 200MHz, 64 MB RAM and 128 MB Flash ROM, WiFi, Bluetooth for connectivity and tri-band 900/1800/1900 Mhz, GPRS support.

Moreover, its user will also be able to enjoy taking snapshots with the 2 megapixel camera and store a reasonable number of files with the help of the MiniSD card slot provided. On a full charge, the W520 will provide up to 4 hours of talk time or 150 hours on standby.

Comparing to other Pocket PCs released lately, the Voxtel W520 is really not impressive. However, the W520 may be more of a budget Pocket PC. Since no official information regarding the price has so far been made available, one can only assume that with the features it includes, it'll come with a low price tag targeting the business user that wants a budget friendly device. According to some info (not official) it should be priced somewhere around 400 Euro.
