VoxOx by TelCentris, a free consumer service that brings together various key communication channels, today announced officially the launch of virtual phone numbers. According to the company, the move is set to enable customers create multiple customized telephone numbers that would route to their VoxOx account, or to other handsets. One can select the phone number from over 100 area codes in the U.S. and Canada, the company announced, adding that it would also offer users the possibility to do a “vanity search” for memorable digits.

“Those who own a small business, have family living in another state, or just would like to have a fun, memorable phone number, can benefit from these new options,” said Erik Bratt, VP of marketing at TelCentris. “For example, a small business owner can now add phone numbers in multiple local areas that the business serves. Or, a U.S. resident with family in another state (or Canada) can now add phone numbers in those locations in order to enable family members to dial locally.”

As stated above, VoxOx puts together various communications channels, including voice, video, IM, text, social media, e-mail, fax and file sharing, all in a single interface. The company offers virtual numbers in addition to free phone numbers that are being offered upon sign-up. Each virtual number is priced at $1.95 per month or $19.95 per year, much cheaper than Skype’s online numbers, the company notes.

Additionally, the company announced the addition of free global numbers, offered via collaboration with the iNum initiative, a special global area code aimed at new IP communications services. Through these numbers, one can easily dial VoxOx from landlines, mobile phones, or other VoIP networks worldwide at low rates. The company continues: “With these new phone number options, VoxOx provides some of the best flexibility in the industry for choosing a number that meets a user’s objectives.”

VoxOx consumers benefit from features such as: - A free randomly selected U.S. phone number and initial calling credit - An option to add multiple virtual phone numbers, customizable by area code and “vanity” digits - A free global iNum number to enable overseas friends to call VoxOx users at local rates or free - The option to forward a consumer’s existing cell phone number to VoxOx without having to give out a new phone number
