IndieDB is opening the voting process for the 2012 Indie of the Year Awards, which have seen no less than 34,000 nominations this year, with players now able to select from 100 titles in order to decide this year’s winners.

The nominees include Natural Selection 2, Chivalry, FTL, Hotline Miami, Transformice, Path of Exile and others.

Scott Reismanis, the founder of IndieDB, states, “It's been amazing watching previous years records get smashed - as more and more gamers find themselves playing independent titles. It will be quite interesting to see who comes out on top (and joins previous winners Minecraft and Terraria) now that the prestigious top 100 has been released.”

There are 10 days to vote and gamers can also offer their opinion on the Mod of the Year Awards, where the community also has 100 nominations.

Voting closes on December 20.
