AMD power inside a VoodooPC

There are moments when I prefer a little IT brand to a big one. This is the exact reasoning behind brands such as VoodooPC or Alienware. And the reasoning goes well with why a small brand can have so much success. It's the little stuff that really counts here. Because "little" and "rare" is somewhat associated with "original" and "enthusiast" in the IT never land. Unfortunately, big system integrators know that just as well as we do. Motive for which, it wasn't much of a surprise the fact that Dell recently integrated Alienware into its portfolio. Evidently, the same thing happened with VoodooPC which has been bought by HP.

But to my surprise, that didn't change the feel and the originality of the brands. Alienware still feels like Alienware. And the same goes for VoodooPC. It's almost like system integrators understood not to interfere with the image of such brands. And after all this time, when you say "VoodooPC", you know it's the real stuff. The guys will be showcasing their known Quad FX platform (called "The Omen") onto enormous 18-foot displays. In fact, there will be three Omen systems networked together with a sit-down module, meaning that you will actually be able to play games on them.

The Omen desktop is VoodooPC's top range; with the introduction of "Omen i:121 Extreme" model which at that moment featured the Intel Core 2 Duo processor and ATI Radeon X1900 Crossfire graphics cards VoodooPC started a complete new line. Of course, the Quad FX platform will also be showcased by Alienware. So I guess we're going to see some sparks in this very area. Later on, VoodooPC is also rumored to present a new gaming laptop but we don't know if it will have SLI capabilities and whether it will integrate quad cores or not.
