Vonage Holdings, a provider of high-quality voice and messaging services over broadband networks, recently announced the introduction of its Vonage Mobile application for Facebook. The new service enables users to make free mobile calls to all of their Facebook friends who have the the application installed on their smartphone.

The Vonage Mobile application is easy to use and seems to be working with a user's existing community of Facebook friends. This eliminates the need to fill in numbers or name through the dialing process. When placing a call, the friend's profile picture and status update display on the screen.

"The Vonage Mobile app for Facebook is a tangible example of our commitment to deliver extraordinary value and a better communications experience for individuals and their social networks, across broadband-enabled devices, around the world," said Marc Lefar, Chief Executive Officer of Vonage Holdings Corp. "This is just the start. In the future we will expand on this service to include a wide range of integrated voice and messaging services that change the way people communicate."

Here is a step by step guide on how to start making free calls to your Facebook friends: download the app from the iTunes Store or Android Market, enters the Facebook ID and password (one time only), check out Facebook contacts after they are automatically loaded. Your contact list will show Vonage logos next to your friends that have installed the application. These are the friends you can call for free. You don't need to be online to be able to call them, and the will ring even if the application is closed.

Vonage Mobile is available for iPhone, iPod touch and Android devices and can be downloaded from AppStore or Android Market. The new service works over Wi-Fi and 3G /4G networks in most countries.
