Microsoft is planning to roll out an overhauled version of its Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) next month. According to the Redmond company, by the end of August 2011, its volume customers will be able to take advantage of a new and improved VLSC.

The simplest way to get a taste of the upcoming Volume Licensing Service Center redesign is to watch two videos that the software giant made available: See What’s New With the VLSC and Product Downloads and Keys.

Obviously, the two videos only offer a sneak peek at the changes introduced with the revamping of VLSC, but volume license customers will have plenty of chances to get familiarized with the evolution of the site.

“In the next month, Microsoft will release an update to the VLSC. This new release reflects the input that we’ve received from partners and more than 1,000 users worldwide through interviews and online feedback,” Microsoft revealed.

“This release of the VLSC will significantly improve and streamline product downloads and product-key search functionality so that customers can get to their licensing assets more easily and quickly.”

The Volume Licensing Service Center is an online hub that the software giant has set up for Microsoft volume customers, streamlining license management.

As the company said, the evolution of VLSC was catalyzed by customer input, and further feedback is expected from users of the site, especially as the redesign is introduced.

Microsoft even put together a list, highlighting some of the changes coming to VLSC in August 2011:

“- Combined Product downloads and Product keys pages. From this one new Downloads and Keys page, you will be able to: view a product description; download products; get products key(s); purchase Media Kits, if qualified.

- One new Subscriptions menu item that combines the Online Services and Subscriptions pages. No changes will be made to the navigation, page content, or links in these sections of the VLSC.

- New visibility into License Grants. You will now be able to see what promotional product you are entitled to.

- A new, improved user interface that provides easy access to help and site resources.”
