Microsoft has just announced that German bank Volksbank has made the move to Surface tablets in an attempt to boost staff productivity and get new employees the chance to practice a lot faster.

“German bank Volksbank Mittelhessen decided to up their game and acquire better young talent into their training academy program by deploying Microsoft Surface tablets,” the company announced.

“As new hires enter the Volksbank Academy, they are given a Surface in order to get familiar with the bank's Microsoft/Office/Windows environment and to interactively train on bank procedures and practices via a custom modern app. Now Volksbank's training material is instantly up to date and trainees can access all the materials instantly and from anywhere.”

Surface tablets are also selling pretty well these days, with many of the available models currently out of stock at Microsoft, even though the company really struggles to keep up with demand.

The second-generation Surface was launched in October 2013 and comes with upgraded hardware and with the newly-launched Windows 8.1 operating system.
