According to Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, King Arthur, Tears of the Sun), director of Warner Bros, the company has started negotiations with Fox Searchlight to direct a feature biopic about the life and struggles of slain rapper Notorious B.I.G., aka Christopher Wallace, aka Biggie Smalls.
The rapper's mom, Voletta Wallace, together with his former managers, Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts, will produce the new feature.
Notorious B.I.G, killed in 1997, after leaving a Vibe magazine after-party at Los Angeles' Peterson Automotive Museum, "was somebody with feelings, somebody with a heart", according to his mother. "Christopher was a son, a father and a good friend. It's time for people to know the real him", Mrs. Wallace said.
