Skype customers should keep an eye out for the latest “is this your new profile pic” infection campaign. However, that’s not the only Skype-related threat that’s making the rounds at the moment.

Experts from GFI Labs have identified a fake Skype voicemail email that urges recipients to sign in to their accounts in order to listen to a message.

“Hi there, You have a new voicemail. Sign in to Skype to listen to the message. If you no longer want to receive email alerts about new voicemails, unsubscribe now. Talk soon, The people at Skype,” the bogus email reads.

The researchers warn that those who click on the link are taken to a malicious domain that’s known to be related to ZeuS and BlackHole infections.

Similar notifications leverage the name and reputation of companies such as Sprint Wireless, Facebook, American Express, UPS and Craigslist.
