Vodafone to Release the New Toshiba 705T in Japan

Vodafone KK has announced a new handset to be released in Japan - the Toshiba 705T. The new device was designed with the popular fashion brand STNY by Samantha Thavasa, and it will be available in three colors, including pink, green, and black.


The handset has a compact body, measuring 47 x 98 x 23mm and weighing 121g. It comes with dual displays: a 2 inch color primary LCD screen supporting 240 x 320 pixel resolution and 260,000 colors, and a 1.3 inch secondary monochrome LCD screen which can display a resolution of 96 x 160 pixels.

For the entertainment part, the phone offers a 1.3 megapixel camera with 5x digital zoom, and a music player, which can be used to listen to music via the built in stereo speakers placed on the back of the device. Other features include 40 MB memory expandable via a miniSD card slot and Bluetooth connectivity.

In addition to supporting current 3G services like Vodafone live! BB and digital comics, the Vodafone 705T is also compatible with the Vodafone live! CAST, which automatically delivers mobile magazine-like content to handsets overnight, and Deru Moji 3D Pictogram Display, which displays 3D animations in received mails.

705T will be released at first in the Kanto-Koshin region on 3 June 2006, with more regions to come when preparations are in place.
