The newly released BlackBerry Curve 8520 from Research In Motion is now available for download in the UK via wireless carrier Vodafone. The new device is the latest BlackBerry smartphone Vodafone UK launches on the market, adding it to an offering that already includes the BlackBerry Storm 9500 smartphone, exclusively available in the country via the carrier.

The new BlackBerry Curve 8520 can be acquired for free with a 24-month contract at £25 a month from Vodafone, the carrier announced, while also adding that the handset could prove a great option for its business users. Vodafone Corporate and Public Sector customers will have the opportunity to purchase it for £185.

The specs list of the device shows full QWERTY keyboard with a touch-sensitive trackpad, a 2-megapixel camera with zoom and video recording, advanced media player, dedicated keys for music and video, a 3.5 mm stereo headset jack, built-in Wi-Fi, support for business and consumer mobile email, BlackBerry Media Sync, and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space that provides support for up to 16GB cards (a 2GB memory card included in the package).

“Priced from free on selected price plans, the BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone is ideal for consumers and businesses and of all sizes. Its full QWERTY keyboard features a new touch-sensitive trackpad that makes scrolling through messages and navigating web pages fast and easy,” is what the wireless carrier has to say about the new Curve.

Mobile phone users in the UK who would like to purchase the BlackBerry Curve 8520 or learn more details on it should head towards Vodafone's website. Full details on the plans the new device is available with, as well as on other BlackBerry packages the operator offers are also available there. The handset is available for purchase both online and via Vodafone Account Managers for Corporate and Public Sector customers, the wireless operator adds.
