Almost three weeks ago Vodafone UK came forward with a short announcement claiming that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Samsung Galaxy S II was “under test.”

At that time, the carrier explained that as soon as the tests were completed they would upload the update onto its serves and start pushing it to all Galaxy S II devices.

Today, Vodafone UK updated its old post regarding the ICS upgrade for Galaxy S II with a release date. It appears that the carrier has just finished the tests and approved the update, which is set to be available for download starting April 12.

The Android Ice Cream Sandwich update for Samsung Galaxy S II has now been approved, and is set to be available on 12th April via Over The Air update and Samsung Kies. This is a provisional date which could change, but we'll let you know here if that's the case.” – Vodafone UK.
