Following the success of the Smart Tab Android tablet, which was launched back in February, Vodafone UK announced the immediate availability of the Smart Tab II.

However, keep in mind that this is a budget-friendly version of the previous Smart Tab model, so don’t expect anything impressive except, maybe, the price.

Vodafone Smart Tab II is now available for purchase for only £30/$45/€35 with a 24-month £20/$30/€25 per month contract, which offers subscribers 2GB of data and 1GB of UK Wi-Fi. Each additional 1GB of data costs £15/$25/€20.

Customers who do not wish to commit to a long-term contract can also buy the Vodafone Smart Tab II tablet for £150/$235/€185 on PAYG (pay as you go) for which customers will receive 500MB of UK data for 60 days. Check it out here.

Although the Smart Tab II is inferior to the previous Smart Tab model when it comes to specs sheet, it appears that the slate is powered by Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box. No word on Jelly Bean yet.

Those unfamiliar with the Vodafone Smart Tab should know the tablet was launched with Android 3.2 Honeycomb onboard.

The sequel is equipped with a 1GHz single-core processor, 4GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). Unfortunately, there are no details on the amount of RAM, but we suspect the Smart Tab II packs only 512MB.

The slate also sports a decent 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1024 x 600 pixels resolution. On the back, the Smart Tab II packs a 2-megapixel photo snapper, while on the front there’s a secondary VGA camera.

It is also worth mentioning that Vodafone Smart Tab II is manufactured by Lenovo and is powered by a 3550 mAh Li-Ion battery.
