Vodafone Romania has just declared that they plan on upgrading to HSDPA at a national level. This comes as an expansion for better services under the name of 3G Broadband.

Vodafone 3G is currently available in 23 Romanian cities, which means that 30 percent of the population can benefit from this service. From all these, 3G Broadband is available only in Bucharest, but will now spread in other cities too in the near future. Actually, what Vodafone is now announcing is the fact that their 3G Broadband services will be available in all Romanian cities from now on.

"After pioneering 3G broadband - HSDPA services on the Romanian market, Vodafone Romania is also the first company to provide the next performance level which brings the fastest mobile data transfer speed in Romania, of up to 2.8 Mbps, through a complete portfolio of wireless connectivity solutions. We are pleased to offer the 3G broadband services to a larger number of Vodafone customers through our extended network coverage in 23 Romanian cities", said Liliana Solomon, President & Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone Romania.

The 3G Broadband can bring speeds of up to 1.4Mbps, which stands for twice as much speed as that delivered by 3G until now. Even more, Vodafone expects to reach the speed of 3.6 Mbps after further developments will be made by the company.

Vodafone Romania is the ninth division of this network operator that has launched 3G Broadband this year. Even more, these services are also available through roaming, for the Romanians abroad. This is even more important, as Vodafone is the first company to launch 3G services in Romania, since 2005.

During June and July, all Vodafone customers from Romania can benefit from a promotional offer. This means that for the same price, Vodafone users will have twice as much traffic included.
