More parents are equipping their children with mobile phones nowadays to be able to stay in touch with them all the time and that's why Vodafone is now providing a mobile communications guide for parents, called "Stay in contact with your child", that offers information regarding the safe and practical use of mobile phones, and the many functions the mobile phones include.

"Children and young people grow up with mobile phones today and they're familiar with all the options that mobile communication offers them," explained Friedrich Joussen, Vodafone Germany's CEO. "It's important that parents talk to their children about the responsible use of their mobile phones. Our guide helps them to do this."

Vodafone has always contributed to the protection of children and young people, considering it one of its top priorities, and is providing this brochure in order to inform parents about the safe use of Internet on mobiles and preventing children from accessing adult content, special services and games for children, the functions of mobile phones as well as how to control mobile communications costs. Adult content on the Vodafone Live! portal, for example, is always PIN protected and therefore "child-proof".

Vodafone also offers a special pre-paid card, named CallYa Junior Card, which allows children to call their parents for free. It also enables parents to debit 10, 25 or 50 euros at the beginning of the month, money that is credited on their child's CallYa Junior account.

The brochure, "Stay in contact with your child", is available at all the German Vodafone Shops and can also be downloaded on their website.
