Vodafone KK, the Japanese subsidiary of the English cellphone operator has announced the new Vodafone 905SH developed by Sharp - a new 3G phone capable of receiving digital TV broadcast.

The new model is expected in June 2006, at the same time with the World Cup 2006 from Germany.

The main feature of the phone is a Cycloid Style LCD which can rotate 90 degrees to a horizontal position. This advanced design enables customers to watch TV transmission in full widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio and a huge resolution, 400 x 240 pixels. The handset has a 2.6-inch Mobile ASV LCD based on the ASV (Advanced Super Wiev) technology for clear and wide-angle viewing, included in Sharp's AQUOS line of LCD TVs. For outdoor viewing, the headset has 6 color filter technology for a pure image on analogue and digital TV broadcast. The handset has a 2 MP video camera, support for mini SD memory card, 3D Pictogram Display and Macromedia Flash.

The connection with a PC is made through USB, PC Link or IrDA. Also Vodafone 905SH supports Vodafone live! Felica, Vodafone live! CAST (3G services) and Bluetooth chat.
