Major carrier Vodafone India has just announced the immediate availability of a set of new unlimited roaming data packages for customers travelling to Japan and Saudi Arabia.

Vodafone India has targeted these two destinations with its new plans, due to the new partnerships with Softbank’s network in Japan and Mobility’s network in Saudi Arabia.

This means that usage on any other international carrier’s network in these two countries will be charged at standard international data roaming charges of Rs 5.50/10 KB.

Vodafone India customers will now be able to take advantage of unlimited roaming data packages, after the carrier announced a 60% discount on roaming tariffs, which makes this deal even better.

There are three different Vodafone unlimited international roaming data packages available for customers who travel abroad: rental of Rs 1499 (3 days), Rs 2499 (5 days) and Rs 3499 (7days).

According to Vodafone, those who wish to activate one of the three data plans can send an SMS ACTULJPN3/5/7 for Japan and ACTULSAU3/5/7 for Saudi Arabia (the number 3/5/7 stands for validity, basis the customer choice; only one number to be keyed in).

The SMS mentioned above should be sent to the toll free number 111 from Vodafone India’s network. It is important to remember to manually select the needed carrier after you reach your destination in Japan or Saudi Arabia, otherwise you won’t be able to take advantage of this offer.

We constantly work to add value for our customers. There is an increasing demand for data usage while on international roaming and our latest international roaming data packages bridges this gap and guarantees affordable connectivity for our customers travelling to high traffic destinations like Japan and Saudi Arabia. Ensuring quick data access upon arrival, it addresses the needs of diverse customer segments,” said Sunil Sood, chief operating officer, Vodafone India.
