Claiming that all information is just speculation

The iPhone was supposed to be offered to Canadian customers by Roger Wireless but recently, the mobile operator announced that it's pure speculation. Now Vodafone is following the same approach, making you wonder if the iPhone will ever be available in other parts of the world, except for the US.

What's for sure is that Canadians will definitely not be getting an iPhone, if Rogers Wireless, the only GSM operator in the country, won't be Apple's carrier for the soon to be released handset.

As for the iPhone's heading on to Vodafone in Europe, Vodafone Ireland representatives have announced that all information is 'pure speculation'. So, while people expected mobile operators to fight over who gets the iPhone, it looks like most of them are actually taking a step back, probably considering the benefits of adding such a phone to their lineup.

It's either that or they don't want to officially announce that they will be carrying the iPhone, for the time being. American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu is the one that claimed Apple was considering offering a subsidy to customers that will get the iPhone from At&t. He had also predicted that Vodafone would be chosen as the operator to carry Apple's handset in Europe.

While things in Europe and Canada remain unclear, in the US, At&t's chief operating officer Randall Stephenson has confirmed that the iPhone will be shipping as promised, in June : "Our expectations are good. Our testing has been good. The iPhone is on target to launch in June," he said. Apparently, over a million of customers have expressed their interest in the device and they are planning to purchase one when it finally starts shipping.
