Even though we recently reported that Vodafone will be continuing the Vodafone 360 H2 LiMo-based smartphone project, it seems that the carrier has decided otherwise. The rightful successor of the Vodafone 360 H1, the 360 H2 device is one of the few to run on Linux mobile platform

Recently reported by GSMArena who received a few pictures from a tipster, the Vodafone 360 H2 was supposed to make its appearance at the CES 2011 or MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2011.

Unfortunately, right after the pictures with the unannounced smartphone have gone live, a Vodafone representative stated that the device had been canceled since July 2010.

Even though more pictures have been leaked, it seems that the carrier has confirmed that there will be no new Vodafone 360 handsets and that development of the H2 has been stopped a few months ago.

Apparently, the LiMo platform won't be developed further, as many of the manufacturers that took part in the LiMo Foundation project are now focusing on producing Android devices.

Also known as Vodafone i8330, the smartphone measures 125 x 60.8 x 11.7 mm and weighs 137g (battery included).

According to leaked data, the smartphone should've featured an upgraded 3.7-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

In addition, the 360 H2 will feature a 3D user interface, accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

Obviously, the smartphone runs on the LiMo platform and it is powered by an ARM Cortex A8 1 GHz processor (PowerVR SGX graphics).

Other key features of the Vodafone 360 H2 include: HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, HSUPA 5.76 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, 3.5 mm audio jack, 16 GB of internal memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), Stereo FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP and GPS with A-GPS support.

It also boasts an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, image stabilization and video recording capabilities (HD 720p@30fps).
