"Vodafone Connect Abroad" is the new service that Vodafone brings to all its subscribers from now on. The roaming data plan is one highly convenient both for the British company and its subscribers too.

Vodafone will drop its laptop data roaming prices to 12 euro per day. This comes in the context of continuous efforts coming from the European Union for reducing the charges that telecommunication operators used for providing roaming services for their subscribers. Vodafone is one of the first companies to start reducing its fees for international data transfer.

"With Vodafone Connect Abroad, customers can now access internet services on their laptops for a simple, daily rate, competitive to hotel WiFi and DSL services", said Frank Rovekamp, Global Chief Marketing Officer, Vodafone.

The new roaming data plan is designed mostly for laptop users and is available in any countries which have a HSDPA network. This type of connection is capable of providing data transfer speeds of up to 3.6Mbps, which is one of the highest in wireless connections.

In exchange for 12 euros, users of "Vodafone Connect Abroad" can surf the web for 24 hours and establish data transfers of up to 50 MB. After this limit is reached, the customer's standard per-megabyte rate further applies. There is no activation charge for opting to switch to this type of roaming services.

This will enable subscribers to keep themselves informed even when traveling abroad through the internet and use email services no matter where they are at the moment. The launch of the "Connect Abroad" service has been announced sometime back in March. Before this, Vodafone has offered accessible roaming performances for their subscribers through the Vodafone Passport roaming service.

The service will be available starting the 2nd of July. Moreover, the specific tariff will be applied to Vodafone customers traveling to Europe, Egypt, Australia and New Zealand, as well as in France, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium.
